Does anyone take the advice on here seriously?

We have all seen the phenomenon of which you speak. The correctness and completeness of an answer can hardly be established by voting. Although there is some incentive to give popular ("best") answers, there is no disincentive to post terrible answers. Still, sometimes I take satisfaction in an answer, hoping that I have helped someone.
