Scarlet fever delaying period?

My doctor THINKS I have scarlet fever. My period was due on 03/16 (6 days late). Can scarlet fever make my period this late? I have no cramps like I usually do a week before. I had very slight ones barely noticeable for 3 days last week, and sore that went away today. My sore s usually stay until the end of my period. On Friday, I had a sharp pinching pain on/by my right ovary that shot down my thigh. Has anybody had these symptoms in pregnancy? Any advice besides to test?
