The recessive allele for sickle cell anemia is more prevalent in regions of Africa where malaria is....?

A-people who possess the recessive allele experience significantly reduced (some are almost immune) symptoms of malaria. So, those people go on to reproduce, whereas people with "perfect" red blood cells are completely susceptible when the mosquito injects the sporozoites.
