For prosperity: the renaissance broke the shackles of papal and spiritual , declified usury and banking as sin etc. Expanded economy beyond basic subsistence into arts. Where the Italian renaissance was humanistic, the German variant was technological-leading to the discovery of the printing press and the growth of publishing. The voyages of discovery marked the expansion of Europe and the beginings of European appropriation of global resources etc.
