Why were the middle ages a period of disorder?why were the middle ages a period of prosperity?
Many changes including the rise and collapse of Charlemagne, feudalism and its collapse, barbarian invasions, the crusades, reformations and many wars. For prosperity: the renaissance broke the shackles of papal and spiritual , declified usury and banking as sin etc. Expanded economy beyond basic subsistence into arts. Where the Italian renaissance was humanistic, the German variant was technological-leading to the discovery of the printing press and the growth of publishing. The voyages of discovery marked the expansion of Europe and the beginings of European appropriation of global resources etc.
